Remember Me Pockets December

This last and final installment of the Remember Me Pockets is as wonderful as they have always been. This month long file is filled with specifically designed paper work for students who do not like traditional paper work. Fortunately For You Books offers alternative worksheets to help this holiday month be filled with learning but taking the stress out of the planned schedule. Just check the calendar to see what we are learning about that day!
Included in this file you will find some famous author's biographies (Emily Dickinson, Cornelia Funke, Rudyard Kipling) and honorable mentions (D'Lacey, Porter[Pollyanna], and Gruelle[Raggedy Ann]).
Our reporters give their last interviews of the year with people who should be remembered for their great contribution to our world or for helping us learn how poor decisions affect your life and others. Interviewed are:Marie Tussaud,George Custer, Walt Disney, Mary Todd Lincoln, Beethoven, Ladybird Johnson, Louis Pasteur, and Tiger Woods. What a great group to have met and gleaned life's lessons from!
Monthly and week long activities are provided for National BINGO month (can we say YEAH!!)and Cookie Cutter Week.
History takes front and center place in our daily activites. National Remembrance of Pearl Harbor uses and internet based activity to learn about the timeframe of this horrific day. The loss of American lives leaves the learner with a love and respect for our military. The Boston Tea Party is an important subject covered this month. Students have no doubt heard about modern tea parties and it is important to give a clear understanding of where in history this has happened before. We provide you with a very good lesson for students who learn best with a quick summation and a visual connection.
And if that was not enough, The Lousiana Territory Purchase was finalized in December. We have used the AT YOUR SEAT format for this file. If you haven't tried this format yet, this is a good time to put it in the day's workboxes. We are pretty sure there will be a recollection of facts at the dinner table that night by using this style of worksheet.
Alabama and Texas became ratified states in December along with many others, but these popular lapbooks are included in the Remember Me December file. Others can be purchased separately to build your collection.
Shaking Up History is a fun way to acknowledge the many other recognitions that wouldn't fit into a month's lessons. Kids like this activity as it gives a quick overview of things that happened that month.
The holidays provide an abundance of activities. We start with Hanukkah and learn how this important Jewish holiday is celebrated. We also have a sweet little collection of Christmas files that are included. Puzzles, gift cards, and tic tac toe complete the month.
We hope you add this month's POCKETS to your collection and that your non classical learners have benefited from these pockets. We had a blast making them and we have learned so much ourselves.
Many blessings and Happy New Year!
